Website Security

Website security is the measures taken to secure a website from cyberattacks. Website security can be a complex topic in an ever-changing atmosphere.  Website security is an ongoing process and an essential part of managing a website that requires constant assessment to reduce the overall risk.

Is your website a target?

Simply, yes.  Owners and administrators often believe they won’t get hacked because their sites are smaller, and therefore make less attractive targets. But, hackers prefer smaller sites with less security.  They are much easier targets for injecting malicious code that can take over the site or install hacked files on unsuspecting website visitors’ browsers.  Malicious code can also inject SEO spam on your website, collect visitor or credit card data, show unwanted ads and even redirect visitors to scam sites.

It has become easier for the average site owner to get online quickly with the use of an open source content management system (CMS) such as WordPress, Magento, Joomla or Drupal.

While these platforms often provide frequent security updates, the use of third-party extensions – such as plugins or themes – lead to vulnerabilities that hackers can easily exploit.

We have developed detailed website security guides to help websites owners and admins protect and mitigate threats.  We also use tools to monitor client sites 24 x 7 x 365.  Including a web application firewall, spam protection, backups and cache performance to speed site load.

We partner with Sucuri.  A web security platform with servers distributed all over the world.
